A liittle cooler this morning than last week, -16C with frost on the trees and shrubs. Sunday is turning into Club run day, members of the Cochrane Red Rock Runners and Tri club have started meeting either at the start of the marathon course or 15km from the end. Today runners Kevin, David, and Gerry started off at 8.32am and we all headed west.

I'm testing a product called "Trakkers", it provides real time location, speed and heart rate. I had completed a successful test on Thursday, when I ran at Dr. JK Mulloy School (GO, KIDS,GO). The Cochrane Foothills Marathon course is a little more problematic as the cell coverage, which it relies on, is sporadic and, when it drops the signal, it has to be manually reconnected. My wife, Sue, was tracking me in the morning and she phoned our son, Calum, in England and he started to track me from his home in Mudeford, Dorset, very cool.

At the 27km a gang was waiting for us and we all headed to the finish. I had felt a knot in my right calf at the 5km mark and it stayed  with me the whole marathon. One of our club members, Nurse Pam, suggested I roll it, have a hot tub and pop 3 Advil after a meal, which I did. Big day tomorrow, Member of Parliament for Wild Rose Alberta, Blake, will join me for part of Marathon #013. Time to ask the tough questions!
