What a brilliant day. It started out as usual, -31C (with wind chill) but then I was off to Mount View School in the NW of Calgary for my first school run. Teacher Dan gave me a ride to the school and there I met Principal Bonnie. I put on all my running gear and spoke to the children at morning assembly.

At 9.00am I began running a 600m loop around the school, 70 loops in total for the marathon. Mid morning, Facility Manager JP joined me and we ran for an hour together. Then, on loop 39, I met a lady from Birminham in the UK. She said that her daughter had told her about "Marathon Martin" and she thought I was a computer character, so she was suprised to meet me running around the school.

With five loops to go Principle Bonnie said all the children could come out and line the path. As I ran along, we did high fives, just like Wesley college (sorta) and they cheered  and yelled. I finished at 3.10pm and signed some autographs (?). The children were wonderful and a big thank you to them, the staff and Principal Bonnie for a lovely day.Now two rest days.

Quote of the Day
