Today's marathon was sponsored by Canadian Wealth Management. I had given a presentation to a group of their investors on Sept 22nd and a number of them had signed up to run with me this morning. I arrived at the Good Earth cafe at 8.45am and met Paul and Christophe. A number of clients joined us and we headed off at 9.00am. The plan was to run 5km loops and pick up people every 45 mins. I felt good today. I think this stretching is having an impact. I must admit I'm only doing one type of stretch. I don't want to overdo it. The first 5km took 36mins, a very good start.
On the second loop I noticed two huge cranes moving large pieces of the "Peace Bridge". This foot bridge has been some what controversial. The cost is $25m and there's another access across the Bow one kilometre up river. However, it is a very nice red colour. The loops were ticking by and I realised there was a chance that I would do a sub 5hr marathon. By the 6th loop every one was gone and I just wanted to finish it off. I came in at 4hr 44min 23sec, my 4th fastest marathon of the year. Excellent.
Canadian Wealth Management donated $2,500 to Right To Play. The employees had a collection and raised $268. Much appreciated.
