Race day today, in Calgary. Sue and I headed into Eau Claire Market at 10.00am for the Last Chance Half marathon. Some years it's a run in the snow, others it's blazing sun. This year was a little overcast with the temp around zero. We met up with Runner Leslie and Runner Ev at the Good Earth cafe. I had time for a breakfast panini and we were off. I've run these paths so many times it's strange to run them in a race. The organizers capped the event at 400 and that seemed a good move, as a large group of us headed east along the Bow.
Sue and I enjoyed the run. On the way, Runner Angie flew by us,in the opporsite direction. We headed into the food court and tucked into the cooked breakfast, supplied by the organizers. Back in Cochrane I had to finish off the marathon. I had eaten too much at the buffet and I waddled around the final kms. However, I had to stop at Mackays for an ice cream. Today was #49, only one more to go to complete Ice Cream Quest 50.
And finally, a bull called Rewind jumped over a fence at the Canadian Finals Rodeo, on Friday night, in Edmonton. One of the Rodeo pickup men was asked what he thought Rewind was thinking when he jumped the fence. What was he thinking!!!!!! I'll tell you what he was thinking: "Get me the %$#@#$& out of here!!!! ". He knew his next stop was going to be as a Happy Meal!!!!
