Today, I headed out to Briar Hill the 46th school, I've visited this year. We're still having a spell of great weather and, as I left the house, I noticed the thermometer was reading +7C, incredible. I arrived at Briar Hill at 7.45am and, on entering through the front door, I met Principal Wendy. She told me that I would be running at the green space across the road. I asked her if they had a sports field and she said not really. She explained that the school had been built in the wrong spot and the area left for a sports field was very weird. Fair enough.

I started off in the dark and watched an amazing sun rise. At 8.45am I came in and talked to the kids at the morning assembly. Briar Hill goes from Kindergarten to Grade six and has 190 students. The green space was small but had lots of variety. I dodged around the trees and shrubs and it felt like I was on a single track trail. During the Class after class came out and ran with me. I had grade 2er Max tell me that his Dad had carried the Olympic torch and had given it to him as a present. Lucky boy. Grade 1er James wanted to run around the world, but when it was pointed out by another student, that there were oceans, James adjusted his plan to include a boat. Also he felt he may have to drive part of the way. Good idea.
