The weather the last few days has been crazy. Yesterday, when I started, it was a balmy -4C. Today, it was -24C and the forecast for tomorrow is -3C. I decided to run half the marathon in Calgary and half in Cochrane. It's just too hard trying to do it all in Cochrane, considering the state of the pathways. I had a good run from Shouldice Pool to the Good Earth cafe. This out and back is 21km and makes a great start to the day. It's interesting, watching the build-up of ice on the Bow, day after day. I had to get back to Cochrane by the early afternoon, as I had several errands to run.
It was a sad afternoon. The final flavour in Ice Cream Quest 50 was consumed. Ice Cream associate Mellissa served me a single scoop, of the Christmas special, Candy Cane. As I walked down Main Street, eating my sumptuous treat, at -24C (no drips!!), I remembered how it all started. In early June, I walked into Mackays and was about to buy a chocolate fudge cone when owner Robin stopped me. She said that they would fuel me for the year. So right there I decided to try and eat every flavour before year end. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. When I tell this story to the school kids they ask me what are my favourite / worst ice creams so here goes:
Five star ice creams:

- Root Beer
