The Kimmett Cup pond hockey tournament. 32 teams, over 300 players. What a great way to celebrate Lindsay's memory.

Below are the Latest Marathon stats:
Don't get me started. Sue and I have been enjoying the World Cup Footy Tournament. Each night, after the marathon, an ice bath, the blog, and supper we sit down to watch one of the games we've recorded. Last night was England vs. Germany. The English mid-fielder, Frank Lampard smashed a great shot, it hit the underside of the bar, bounced inside the goal and came out. I leapt up from the couch (not a good move!) and yelled GOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!. To my disbelief the goal was not given. Now every year thousands of fans go to watch their teams, millions is spent on players salaries and billions are watching the World Cup but FIFA won't buy a $50 camera and put it at the base of the goal post. It's even easier at the World Cup. There are a couple of TV channels that are showing the games and they flip up the replays 3 seconds after it happens. I can only imagine the conversation in the officials booth: "Bert, did you see if the ball crossed the line? Sorry, Ernie, I was catching up on Coronation Street".
Pay back time for Bambi. There was a disturbing story in today's Calgary Herald about herds of deer that are stalking dogs. What's next, a battalion of hedgehogs tracking down your pet moggy? How the worm has turned.
Strange running day. I had to take the RX8 into the Mazda dealership to get some work done on it. After 14km, I popped in to see Serviceman Sam and Mechanic Brian. They told me that they had to get some parts from Calgary so it could take a while. No problem. I had found an excellent 2km pathway around the car lot and cruised the route for the next 4 hrs. I finished my run at 3.00pm and Brian said he would need to keep the car until tomorrow. No sweat. Dwight, drove me home. Zoom, Zoom.
