Yesterday, was a day off. So, Sue, her sister Lynne, partner Dean and myself headed off to Balzac, a town 20kms north of Calgary. Our objective was the Cross Iron Mills mall and the legandary Bass Pro Shop. This store is emmence, huge beams and a roaring fire. It has everything the fishin, huntin and shootin gang needs. There are also 300 stuffed animals and it's a little creepy feeling the 600 glass eyes follow you around. However, their breakfast egg and bacon sandwich is excellent. In the evening, I went to Coffee Traders. Runners Hayley and Patrich, from Lifestyles Fitness, have been holding a 5x5 (5 Wednesdays / 5km races) race series and it was awards night. They had decided to donate the money, collected for the series, to Right To Play and it totalled $1,010. Fantastic.

This morning's weather forecast: Cloudy and warm NOT!!! I headed into Calgary and met Photographer Chris from the Globe and Mail. They're planning an article in Saturday's edition and he wanted a few shots. I then headed towards the zoo and the rain started. Not only that, but the temp started to drop. I put on my Glad 3-in-1 rain jacket and plodded on. After 5km I had had enough and headed back to the car. I was freezing. I had to get back to the house quickly. When I saw the flashing red and blue lights I knew I had gone a little too quick. Speeding ticket. Not good. The last 12km was around Cochrane and I was happy to call it a day at 4.00pm.
