What a difference a day makes. From wet and windy Arctic conditions to summer time. Today, Smiling Paul in the Calgary Herald stated " 22/9 Mainly sunny with cloudy periods in the morning with chance of thundershowers developing in the afternoon". He certainly covered all angles. The only thing he didn't have in there was snow. I parked at the Shouldice Pool and, as I was about to leave, I glanced at the roof of the rental Mazda 3, OMG, dints all over it from the killer hail storm. It was the same on the hood and trunk. I hadn't noticed it on Monday and I didn't use the car on Tuesday. Sue phoned Stoney Trail Mazda and they told her to bring it in on Friday.

As the run progressed, the clouds moved away and the sun broke out. I headed towards the Inglewood Bird Sanctury and, along the way, spotted a couple of fellows fly-fishing. As a kid in England I had spent many an evening and night fly fishing on the banks of the River Dart in Devon. Maybe, once the Quest is over I'll do some on the Bow. One fellow was casting towards the bank and working the shallows while the other was positioning the boat. I could have stopped and watched them for hours but I had people to see and things to do so I headed off. Along the pathways I met Runner Mike and Dr. Greg (AKA Dr Pain) who was running with his dog, Wriggly. I made to the car by 3.00pm and no thundershowers.

Q: What animal has more lives than the cat?
A: A frog, he croaks every night.

Quote of the Day

"It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference"
