I knew it was going to be a tough day when I overslept this morning. I felt all bruised and fragile from my tumble yesterday and my right knee was aching. In the Calgary Herald, Weatherman Paul is my new best friend. I've been critical of a couple of his prediction but over all he's been spot on. Today he forecast" 15/9 Cloudywith light rain in the morning, becoming thundershowers in the afternoon (90% POP). Humidex 17."Not good. I was in a moany mood and it seemed to take forever to finish breakfast and prepare for the day. Sue gave me a "Suck-it-up-princess" look and I was out the door.

I had decided to head west from the Shouldice Pool and see if I could run off  the aches and pains. The rain held off and the overcast sky made for a good running temperature. After 8km, I crossed the Stoney Bridge to the south side of the river and started to run on a single track path through the trees. Then disaster struck. My left foot caught a root and down I went. I have a question: If Martin falls in a forest and no one is around to hear him, does he make a sound? Too darn right he does!!!!! I tried to do a "ninja roll" and it didn't work too bad, just had to pick a few pine neddles out of my nose.

What is going on. Is it fatigue? Is it a lack of concentration? Or is it the new "Clown" Nike's that I'm wearing? The ad say's "There's even room to pack a lunch". These shoes are hot.
