Below are the Latest Marathon stats:
I've followed this World Cup of Footy from the first kick-off of the South Africa vs. Mexico game to last night's snooze-fest (more later) of the Germany vs. Spain game. I've been in Canada 34 years now and would have supported them. Only problem is they haven't been in the World Cup since 1986. Oh well, I was born in England so let's cheer them on: No good, out in the quarter finals. No problem, I'm a quarter German, surely they are the team. No, Spain used the "Rip Van Winkle" attack: put every one asleep then scored a goal in the last few minutes. Luckily, I have an Aunt from Holland so it's the Dutch all the way.
Interesting run today. The pain in my shoulders has forced me to switch from the hydration pack to the fuel belt. Luckily, tomorrow, I'm being worked on by Physio Serge and Dr Greg (AKA Dr Pain) so hopefully they can sort something out. I started off at the Shouldice Pool and headed west. I love this run along the Bow. I was feeling good and as another runner approached me I said hi: no response. No eye contact, no acknowledgement, no wave. Maybe they were a zombie? but wait, what were those wires coming out of there ears? yes, it was the ubiquitous icanthearadarnthingpod. If this had been a one off I might have talked about dogs off-leash in on-leash ares. But it wasn't. It happened four times today. The last one was quite interesting. A Calgary Parks vehicle was trying to water the hanging plants along the path and the iperson was oblivious to what was going on behind them. Fun and games.
