The story of Befeer Bear had a happy ending. When we last left him, he was being tracked by the Fish and Wildlife Officers, through the pathways of Cochrane. They tried tracker dogs but with no success. He was later spotted on a pathway in Glenbow, then up a tree. He was finally caught near the Bow River south of Griffin Road. A Fish and Wildlife Officier tranquilized him and the 3 or 4 year old bear was then taken on a long trip and relocated north of the Red Deer River. He certainly had an eventful couple of days. The Fish and Wildlife folk recommend that you don't use your bird feeder between April and October as they attract bears. Sister Sally in England, be warned!

Final walk marathon of the week and I headed into Calgary. On Wednesday I had crossed the 6,000km mark, only 4,500km to go. The right leg is feeling pretty good but I don't want to push it just yet. I headed west and strolled along the pathway by the Bow. Not much happened except I found some money. First it was a lucky 10c then a lucky quarter. Only problem was I put them in a pouch that had vent holes on the bottom and I lost them both. Easy come, easy go. The pathways had the usual mix of bikers, runners, rollerbladers, electric buggy's, dogs (on and off leash). It's great to see the paths so well used and if I ever planned to live in a city I'd look at the pathway system first and pick a spot.
