Last night I went to see Physio Darra. I've been having trouble with what felt like a pinched nerve in my left glute. He pushed and pulled it, then applied ultrasound. After that I hit the floor and was bent into a pretzel shape. I went home feeling pretty sore and hit the sack. I tossed and turned all night. In the morning I hobbled around the kitchen, had breakfast and headed off to Hawkwood School. This was not a great way to start the day. I had had the same thing happen on Saturday but once I got running the pain eased off. At the School I met Phys Ed. Teacher Mike. He told me assembly was at 9.00am so I had time for a few laps. Sure enough the pain started to disapper after 3km. Crazy.

I get to meet many great kids on these school visits and hear some incredible stories. Today I talked to grade 3er Adam about his pets. He has a hamster called "Pipsqueak" and apparently Pipsqueak can run 8hrs on his tread wheel continuous with no food or water....and he does this at night. He had another hamster, "Yoda" who's not much of a runner..... no kidding. I also had a grade 2 girl tell me that I didn't look as young as my poster. Who would after 173 marathons!!!!!!

Q. How do you get an elephant down from a tree?
A. Put him on a leaf and wait until autumn!

Quote of the Day

"I tell runners to divide a race into thirds. Run the first part with your head, the middle part with your personality, and the last part with your heart."
