Yesterday, I forgot a very important thank you to someone. Student Kaycee is with the Springbank Community High School cross-country team and, at the end of the day, she gave me an envelope. It contained a cheque for $50 to Right To Play. Now $50 pays for a Right To Play program for a child for one year. So Kaycee's donation will change the life of a child and that's pretty amazing.
Today it was back in the saddle and off to the Calgary pathways. Runner Donna joined me at Shouldice Pool and we made good time to Eau Claire Market. This time, instead of the Good Earth cafe, we tried the YMCA cafe. Excellent pineapple and almond muffin.
Avatar Marathon Martin is a huge movie buff and over the last 20 years he has been an extra in a number of films. His credits include "Run, FatBoy, Run", "Run, Lola, Run" and more recently "The Runaways". On his virtual tour of North America he spent a day in Fargo, North Dakota. Back in 1996 Avatar Marathon Martin was hitch hiking across the USA when he saw an ad in a local paper for extras for a movie called "Fargo". It was directed by the Coen brothers, Joel and Ethan and starred Francis McDormand. Avatar Marathon Martin was to play "The Stig", a criminal, working with two hoods Carl and Gaear. The movie went on to win two academy awards, with Francis McDormand winning Best Actress. Avatar Marathon Martin didn't.
